![]() Castle End is a 1950s student residential building on the Colony site at Clare College in Cambridge. Archangel is carrying out a full scale refurbishment of the building, which includes the addition of lift access, new meeting rooms and gym, new dining room and kitchens, and the creation of 7 additional en-suite student rooms to make a total of 51. Project completes June 2009. Other projects for Clare College have included a new Porter's Lodge for the Colony site, and a new buiding for the College's Maintenance Department.
St Thomas Church Islamabad (with
local practice Suhail & Pasha). The design of this church, for the city's
varied Christian populations, drew on surviving traditional brickworking
skills and local Moghul architecture to produce a focal building that helps
the Pakistani Christian community find a place within a predominantly Muslim
society.
Europan 3 international architectural competition entry for redevelopment
of Lenzi furniture factory, Quarrata, Italy (with David Joy). This scheme
won a Special Mention, and led to commissions for a masterplan (in collaboration
with 3 other international teams) and a large residential development.
An example of extensive alterations to an Edwardian semi-detached house in central Cambridge. As with many of our projects, light and the sensitive choice of materials combine with the sculptural forms of the building elements to create a refreshing interior and exterior.
A complete refurbishment of a bungalow in Cambridge for a disabled client, including extensions to front and rear. The brief included the design of an aluminium pergola and serpentine garden wall linking house and garage.
